About Us

We work to gather family and friends for great days of sports and entertainment. We provide a vehicle to support the Black Community to maintain traditions and share those traditions with the wider community through food, music, carnival, games, poetry, literature, and more.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Every December, ACT hosts a Children's Christmas Party at the Coventry Caribbean Association. We welcome 100 children to celebrate the season with us, with food, activities, and gifts.

This follows the tradition of the Coventry Caribbean Association, who held their first Children's Christmas Party in 1957.

FAMILY FUN DAYS

Summer marks the comeback of the Family Fun Days! We host three Fun Days over the summer at the Xcel Leisure Centre. The days are filled with games, activities, food, stalls, and music. We work hard to ensure that all the Fun Days are FREE, welcoming families and groups across the community.

WINDRUSH CELEBRATIONS

22nd June marks Windrush Day, a day of commemoration recognising the migrant contribution to the UK. ACT introduced its Windrush Dinner & Dance in 2019, and in 2022, it was combined with the Windrush Awards. The Windrush Awards were created to celebrate key members of the community and all the work they do. For the 75-year anniversary, ACT will also run a Windrush Festival.

EASTER PARTY

2023 welcomed our first Children's Easter Party, where 60 children and their families joined us for an egg hunt, games, food, and of course, chocolate eggs! The Easter Bunny even made an appearance to judge our Bonnet Competition.

The day was a great success and will reappear in 2024.
